Jewish dna

Postby Jcw2 » Sun Nov 07, 2021 5:36 pm

I did the native plus test and my number 2 closest match was Hungarian-Askenazim. I am just curious why in my other dna tests, no Jewish dna connections on autosomal results. Also, on dna consultants test, I have Jewish mega population as first at 3.179e+11, And allele Jewish 2. 3 and both on 4..
Just curious why no other test is showing Jewish. On a Jewish Facebook page they said I had no Jewish ancestry. So, I am confused.
Thank you for any information ☺

Congratulations on discovering other lines of ancestry populations. With strong results in three areas Top 50 Population Matches, megapopulations, and Genetic Markers, the heritage seems strong in your family.

DNA Consultants has a very extensive database with profiles from more than 520 populations worldwide. Other companies do not have such extensive data so their analyses would not reflect as many populations.

That question probably comes up somewhat frequently as people do DNA testing with more than one company. Understanding why there is a lack of consistency in the results between companies is something that is definitely needed as it can lead to confusion and questions regarding the validity of the results. That was a good explanation regarding the difference in the amount of sources in your database as opposed to other companies.
