Our Neanderthal Great...grandparents

Postby Shari » Thu Mar 24, 2016 9:33 pm

Who among us has Neanderthal great...grandparents? See http://www.nature.com/news/early-europe ... nt-1.17534 .
Neanderthal physical traits are recognizable among modern human populations. My mother, sister and I each have an “occipital bun” or “Anatolian bump.” Also, I found that my mother’s two DNA reports showed 12 of the 16 within the “archaic population” list in the website above. Also from the website above, “...They are thought to have higher rather than lower amounts of Neanderthal genes...”
Our Neanderthal great...grandparents must have passed down DNA to us since I can identify Neanderthal characteristics and diseases existing in our family. Researchers have been working to find evidence of diseases we can attribute to Neanderthal DNA - http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2 ... -ailments/ and http://www.livescience.com/53691-neande ... risks.html.
Was lack of enough Vitamin D one contributing reason Western European Neanderthals did not survive? See -http://www.leonardogreenfield.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Greenfield-Neanderthal-Paper.pdf.
Scroll down to see a Neanderthal DNA “Sample Index for Jane Doe” at http://dnaconsultants.com/CatalogueRetr ... ectType=27.
