Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians mobilizes $3.2 million in Hurricane relief efforts

The EBCI Hurricane Relief Distribution Center, located at 2060 (2260 correct for distribution center)Old Mission Road, Whittier, NC 28789, operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and continues to receive and distribute shipments daily.

Atmore, Ala. – The Poarch Creek Indians, in collaboration with Wind Creek Hospitality, have launched a donation drive beginning Thursday, Oct. 3. to collect much-needed relief supplies for the communities impacted by Hurricane Helene. After delivering two tractor loads of essential supplies to the Eastern Band of Cherokee and nearby North Carolina communities, the Tribe and Wind Creek Hospitality invite the public to help extend further support to those affected by the storm.

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Ala. (UPDATE 4:33 pm) Hurricane Helene left a path of destruction through six states. One week later, the only thing bigger than the storm may be the effort to help storm victims recover.


Two tractor-trailer loads of supplies are already in Cherokee, North Carolina and more basic necessities are on the way from the Poarch Creek Indians in Atmore and it all started with a text message
