Re: Does anyone else here have a “family story” of remote Scottish ancestry?
No certain individuals, but informal traces back to Lowland and Highland as well as to the Dal Riata kingdom straddling west coast of Scotland, east coast of Ireland and the islands in between. Did hear of 5 McKinney brothers immigrating to the British Colonies in North American in the early 1700s. ...

Re: White Child Abducted by Delaware Embraced Native Life Mary Campbell
Fascinating that you have information on an ancestor who was such a well-known part of history. Have you done much research on her and others in the family line? Did she remain friendly with her captors after her return to her family of origin?

Re: Does Gaines count for Goins?
Hi, J.B.,
I checked with Dr. Yates, and he said no. He said Gaines derives from English while Goins is Hebrew. He had at one time thought maybe, but looked into it.

Re: Africans in Early American pre History
I've watched documentaries and read about Africans in the prehistoric Americas. Ancient sailors did not view rivers and oceans as obstacles, but as highways. Re: 10 Rare Gene Alleles
Thanks, Deborah, The #18 on your certificate refers to the whole group of populations that fall under Native American megapopulations. Just as we have several Jewish populations that fall under the umbrella of the Jewish megapopulations or the Central European label. Your #18 means your Native conne...

Re: Jewish 1 and 3 Alleles
Good afternoon, Dani, Answering your first question, "common" means widespread not diluted. It's a strong allele if widespread. Regarding testing for tribe, I asked and was told a premium male or female is the only way to find out further information and that would most likely not tell the...
